Looking for a way to be more involved in your student's classroom this year? Room Parents are still needed for several classes, and we'd love for you to get involved! The PTO is hosting our first Room Parent Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Alabaster.
Whether you've already signed up or are interested in volunteering in this role, this meeting will answer your questions and set you up for a great year as a Room Parent!
Thinking about signing up but not sure what's involved in being a Room Parent?
MVES Room Parents have three main responsibilities.
Help teachers communicate with parents and guardians as needed about volunteer opportunities, school events, etc.
Assist your teacher with planning events like class parties or special classroom activities.
Coordinate with classroom families to provide teacher gifts on special occasions like birthdays, holidays, and teacher appreciation week in May.
We'll provide training and resources at our Room Parent Meeting, and you'll have ongoing support from the PTO's Room Parent Coordinator too! We also utilize the Group Me app to provide a space for all Room Parents to share information, ideas, and volunteer opportunities.
To sign up or learn more, you can email us at mveswarriors@gmail.com.
