The 2022 Math and Reading Night was a huge success, thanks to all the awesome teacher and PTLA volunteers!
PTLA stands for Parent Teacher Leadership Academy. Erin Washam and Melissa Brown, two of our PTO members, have been attending PTLA classes at University of Alabama this year. This Math and Reading Night was sponsored by the PTLA along with the faculty and staff at Meadow View.
During this event, every MVES student received a big bag of goodies, including games and manipulatives such as dice and playing cards to help learn math and reading.
The teachers set up stations around the school to teach students and parents how to use the tools in their bags to make learning fun!
Mrs. McMurray, the art teacher, did an excellent job of displaying all the student's artwork outside of their classrooms for parents to enjoy.
About 350 students attended with their parents and guardians, making this a huge evening event at our school. Thank you to our PTLA volunteers this year, Erin Washam and Melissa Brown, for helping coordinate this amazing night! Thanks to Neighborhood Walmart and Publix for providing snacks and drinks for our students!
This was the first major event since COVID restrictions have been loosened, and it was wonderful to see our school families back in the building.
